This was the fifth design of ryandomingue.com, but the first design I was completely happy with. I ended up tweaking it through February of 2010, but it went live in January.
The landing page is meant to give the visitor a quick introduction to me through my favorite things: coffee, cookies, and Apple products. As is plainly evident, I was very much into Photoshop’s noise filter at the time. The main font is Quicksand Light. I found that Windows didn’t render the font correctly, though, so I set up a PHP script that would set the font to Verdana on systems other that Mac OS X. The title font is Tall Deco.
There was never a real consistent look throughout this version of the site, which lead to many forced re-designs, all of which were abandoned. I finally settled on the current design in September, 2010, at which point this version was relegated to the Portfolio section.
